Contiki adds more in South America

Contiki has launched their product offering in Latin America with six new trips and departure dates through to 2019.

With small groups, local guides and private included transport, Contiki trips continue to provide unrivalled value, while addressing the needs and desires of the millennial traveller.

Increasing their footprint, the brand has added three trips featuring new destinations Bolivia and Chile. Bella Bolivia, Bolivian Magic and the Andean Crossing all take in the vibrant cities and jaw-dropping landscapes that have catapulted Bolivia to the top of the South American bucket list for young travellers.

Contiki Australia, Managing Director, Katrina Barry said “Bolivia is a natural next step for us, it’s an incredible destination that provides unforgettable experiences for our travellers – whether they’re after cities, culture, or out-of-this world landscapes and scenery. With Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil all sharing borders with Bolivia it’s a great connector for our other trips, allowing travellers to extend their journeys throughout the region.”

These trips also experience the stark beauty of the Atacama Desert in Chile, and the colonial charm of Salta in northern Argentina.

Building on the success of Contiki’s Limited Edition Series in Europe and North America, the brand has brought the food-focused trip to Central America with Munch Mexico. Capitalising on the millennial focus on food experiences and Mexico’s diverse and renowned cuisine, Munch Mexico provides travellers with the unparalleled travel experience expected from a Contiki trip paired with dialled up food experiences to appeal to any foodie traveller.

The final additions are new trips created in continued partnership with ME to WE, empowering travellers to give back to local communities in remote Ecuador. The Lava Line and Ecuador and Galapagos Island Hopper trips both feature dedicated departures that include 3 days working with ME to WE at their project deep in the Amazon jungle, accessible only by boat.

“We firmly believe in our responsibility to operate sustainably, treading lightly in the environments and communities in which we travel,” explains Katrina Barry.

“Contiki works with local communities everywhere we visit, whether that’s supporting family run farms in rural Australia or restaurants that promote social mobility in Cambodia. Our new trips created in partnership with ME to WE provide our travellers with hands on opportunities to embed themselves in some of the incredible projects supported by ME to WE, making for an unforgettable and truly rewarding travel experience.”

Operating as small groups, coordinated by an experienced Contiki Trip Manager and featuring local guides in each destination, Contiki trips in Latin America include exceptional no regrets experiences, from 4x4ing across the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve to a guided tour of ancient Machu Picchu. Travellers looking to enhance their trip have the opportunity to add Me Time Optional experiences like soaring over Teotihuacan in hot air balloons or swimming with sharks and stingrays in Caye Caulker. All the while travelling in private included transport, with included flights that allow travellers to spend more time in destination and less time getting there.
