Travellers want more USA & Canada

The USA and Canada rank in the top three regions to travel to in 2017 for 18-35 year olds, according to a Contiki.

A survey conducted by Contiki and independent travellers in 2016 revealed that the USA and Canada were on the hot list for youth travellers, so in response, Contiki’s 2018 USA and Canada product offering has been expanded.

The 2018 program will include a new trip to Canada and say Aloha to Hawaii, and will also see the exciting addition of two limited edition trips – Munch and Snap – focusing on food and photography.

Ticked off the Big Apple and Big Sur? How about The Big Kahuna, Contiki’s NEW 9-day Hawaii island hopper trip visiting Oahu, Hawaii (The Big Island) and Maui. Highlights include down time on the beaches of Waikiki, visiting the USS Arizonian Memorial and Punchbowl Cemetery to learn about the historic events of Pearl Harbour and mountain biking down the 3055m Mt Haleakala Volcano.

Also new for 2018 is Northwest Passage, an In-Depth Explorer trip through Vancouver, Victoria, Tofino and Whistler with a visit to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and the chance to spot bears in the wilderness.

The 2018 USA and Canada programme also sees the exciting addition of two Munch and two Snap departures. Informed by 2016 research, 57 percent of Contiki and independent travellers ranked food as one of the most important travel experiences, whilst a desire to see natural beauty motivated 53 percent.

The innovative new product experiences include:

MUNCH – Boots, Scoot N Blues

Taking over two departures of the popular High-Energy Boots, Scoot N Blues trip, this limited edition tasty extravaganza will take Contiki travellers through the food scenes of Austin, San Antonio, New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville. The mouth-watering itinerary includes everything from food truck experiences to cooking school delights.

SNAP – Canada & the Rockies

The landscape and breath-taking views of The Western provinces of British Columbia & Western Alberta and Canadian Rockies prove a natural choice for Contiki’s Limited Edition Snap trips. Led by a Trip Manager specialising in photography, Snap includes plenty of spectacular views, plus tips and guidance on how to capture the beauty of nature through the lens.

Contiki’s 2018 USA & Canada brochure will go on sale from 7 March 2017, with 30 unique itineraries and trip prices starting from AU$1015 per person. Youth Travellers can save 10% off 2018 USA & Canada products when they book and pay in full by Thursday 1st June 2017.
