Travelling solo can be great fun with Dragoman

Striking out on your own can be a bit of a daunting thought but travelling solo as part of a small group with Dragoman on an overland adventure could be just the answer.

Its straightforward enough to visit the must see highlights of a region – be it the iconic Taj Mahal, the incredible ruins of Machu Picchu, the mighty Victoria Falls, or the phenomenal Great Wall of China but Dragoman does all this and more. Really getting off the beaten track in an overland truck you have the chance to really get under the skin of a country with the safety of knowing that you are travelling as part of a group.

Dragoman’s mantra is “it’s the journey, not just the destination”. They have been specialising in overland travel since 1981 so they have heaps of experience and an understanding of the destinations that they visit. They take the time for you to enjoy the experience, seeing the real country rather than just the highlights, promising you adventures that are great fun!

One of the real beauties of overlanding is that it attracts people form all walks of life so you will find a real meeting of minds when travelling as part of a Dragoman group. Often people are travelling alone, and with a wide range of ages they will all be up for an adventure and be like minded souls that are happy to share the experience with you.

Dragoman’s overland trucks in their iconic orange livery are also truly unique. They are rugged, sturdy and comfortable. The comfort comes inside with coach style seating, plenty of leg room, two tables, a library, fridge, safe, open access cabins to the crew and storage for bags and personal belongings. On the outside we also have a water tank for drinking water. All the trucks are owned and maintained by us and the crew are all mechanically trained and follow a strict maintenance schedule. Travelling as part of a group in one of these trucks you will soon be sharing the camaraderie and experiences of the group with many people making life long friends.

Dragoman will take you to places that you may not see with any other operator let alone when travelling alone. From the wilds of Mongolia, to the mountains of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, to Samarkand and Bukhara many areas are never visited by tourists but offer you awe inspiring adventures and life-long memories.
